George "Butch" Carlton Turner

February 10, 1958 - December 6, 2025

George Carlton “Butch” Turner, 67, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away on December 6, 2025. Born on February 10, 1958, he was the son of the late Willie C. Turner and Bessie Blaseadale. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Dee Ball, and siblings Johnny Turner and Beth Lou Williams.

A lifelong Virginia resident, Butch was known as a “do-it-all” kind of man—a jack of all trades with a free spirit and a heart always ready to help. He was the owner and operator of Turner Construction. Handy, hardworking, and gifted with the ability to fix just about anything, Butch took pride in his craft and in the people he served.

Butch is survived by his daughter, Jessi Turner, and his two sons, Joshua Turner and Jamey Turner. He was a proud grandfather to Brittany Turner-Hall (Alex), Ace Prevette, Xavier Ball, Clara Ball, Sophia Turner, and Klyde Turner. He is also survived by his brother, Bobby Turner.

Butch will be remembered for his generosity, his humor, his unmatched ability to repair whatever was placed in front of him, and the deep love he held for his family. His legacy lives on in the stories he leaves behind and in the hands-on skills he passed down to those who loved him most.
