Dorothy Wilson Payne

Dorothy Wilson Payne, 59, passed away peacefully at her residence on December 14, 2025. Dorothy was born in Danville, VA on September 27, 1966 to the late Hester Phelps Wilson and the late William Henry Wilson. She is survived by her loving husband of many years, Mr. Paul Edward Payne.

Dorothy was of the Christian Faith and was a loving Homemaker and loved her entire family.

In addition to her husband Dorothy is survived by a son; Thomas Payne and wife Makayla of Axton, VA; a sister; Mary McMillian of Spencer, VA; three grandchildren; Timothy Wayne Wilson, Paisley Cabella Payne, and Makaylynn Briar Payne; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by a daughter; Amanda Wilson; a brother; Archie Wilson, and two sisters; Estelle Crews and Elaine Bray.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 2:00pm at the Wilson Bray Family Cemetery, 1161 West Fork Road, Cascade, Virginia 24530, with Pastor David Terrell officiating.
