Joyce Wills

Joyce Armentrout Wills, age 90, of the Alleghany Health & Rehabilitation Center in Clifton Forge, Virginia died on Thursday, December 25, 2025.

Joyce was born on December 29, 1934 in Covington, Virginia to the late Ira and Goldie Downey Armentrout. She was a homemaker throughout her life but also worked for H. O. Canfield. She was a former member of the Iron Gate Christian Church, enjoyed playing BINGO and cards, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Lafayette Wills; a son, Alan Wills; two sisters, Doris Boguess and Glenna-Belle Dobbs; and two brothers, Ira “Buford” Armentrout and Freeman Downey.

She is survived by two daughters, Joy W. Knick (husband, Randall “Randy” Knick) and Robyn Wills; her grandchildren, Keith Wills, Jeremy Wills, Christina Wills, Eric Knick, Gary Knick, Bryan Wills, Chad Richardson, and Brandi Hise, with step granddaughter, Judy Knick; and a number of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025 at 2:00 PM in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge with Chaplain Howard Pendley officiating. Interment will immediately follow. There will be no formal visitation. However, friends may call during business hours at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
