Russell Holland Hudgins

Russell Holland Hudgins, 90, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025. Russell was born in Danville, VA on January 2, 1935 to the late Nannie Louise Thomas Hudgins and the late Alex Russell Hudgins. He was also predeceased by his loving wife of many years, Mrs. Doris Powell Hudgins.

Russell was of the Christian Faith. He worked for many years in management at Diston, previous to his retirement. Russell also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

Russell is survived by a sister; Sue Collie; two nieces; Bonnie Campbell and husband Bill and Brenda Lynn Hudgins; and a nephew; Dallas Collie and wife Wyndy; and also his special care taker; Ann Jackson.

In addition to his parents and loving wife, Russell was predeceased by a brother; Joseph Walter Hudgins.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Mt. Hermon Fire and Rescue, 4268 Franklin Turnpike, Danville, VA 24540.

A Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday, January 2, 2025 at 11:00am at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA with Pastor Gerald Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park, Danville, VA. A visitation will be held on the same day prior to the service from 10-11:00am also at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA.
