Melita Mccoy

Melita McCoy, age 97, of McCoy, died Friday, January 2, 2026, at her home. She was born in McCoy, VA on September 26, 1928, to the late Creed Alfred and Grace Fagg McCoy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hobert Duane McCoy, grandson, Drew Viars, and her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Sharon Lynn McCoy, Sarah Jane and Claude Kenley; son and daughter-in-law, Joel D. and Cinda McCoy; grandchildren, Melinda Lynn and husband, Steve Slusser, Michael Monroe, Jamie McBride and husband, Doug, Jennifer Sewell and husband, Doug, Cameron Kenley and wife, Amber Ettinger, Sarah Grace Firestone and husband, Kent; granddaughter-in-law, Christine Viars; great-grandchildren, Matthew McCoy (Shanon), Billy Graham, Ethan Slusser (Michelle), Harlie Clinch (Jeremy), Hannah Viars, Devon Viars, Caleb Sewell, Kylie Sewell, Lauryn McBride, Malachi Firestone; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at McCoy Family Cemetery with Rev. Gary McCoy officiating.
