Dennis Edwin Doss

Dennis Edwin Doss, 71, of Appomattox, died Sunday, January 11, 2026. He was the husband of Wanda Ferguson Doss.
Born in Lynchburg, VA, on July 14, 1954, he was the son of the late Henry Allen “Dee” Doss and Marjorie “Margie” Woodson Doss Reider. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Doss Beckhouse; brother, Glenn A. Doss; nephews, Brandon Doss and Matt Bryant; and his stepfather, Ralph H. Rieder, Jr.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two grandchildren, Ava Beckhouse and Chase Beckhouse; son-in-law, Chris Beckhouse; brother, Timmy Doss; sister-in-law, Sue M. Doss; brother-in-law, Larry Ferguson and wife, Tammy; nieces, Jessica D. Pack and husband, Rick and Michelle D. Bryant; nephews, Travis Ferguson and wife, Whitley and Eric Ferguson and wife, Katherine; and several great nieces and nephews.
Dennis retired from BWXT and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He loved going every morning to watching for deer, turkey, and bear on the family farm where he spent his childhood with his grandparents, Edna and T. E. Woodson.
A funeral service will be held 3 pm, Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at New Hope Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Rick Sewell. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 2 pm until 2:45 pm prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial be made to New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, 6227 Old Courthouse Rd., Appomattox, VA 24522.
