Jeffery Lamont Dillard
Jeffery Lamont Dillard, 52, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at his home. He was born on May 12, 1973, to the late Alton Easley and Lucy Dillard, who survives. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Susie Dillard; two aunts, Phyllis Menefee (Roger) and Lovenia Ross (Cermit); and nine uncles, James Dillard (Pasty), Roosevelt Dillard, Roger Dillard, William Dillard (Ellen), Matthew Dillard, Randolph Dillard, Leonard Dillard, Clarence Dillard, and Freddie Dillard. He was also preceded in death by two devoted friends, Conrad and Joe.
Jeffery was a graduate of Bassett High School, Class of 1991. He was employed at Hanes Brands. He was of the Holiness faith and enjoyed spending time at the local Rosie’s Gaming Emporium and Floyd Gravely’s Community Market. He enjoyed doing yard landscaping when he could and spent time working with his friend, Boochie Moorison. He will be remembered for his quiet spirit and the relationships he cherished throughout his life. He was always willing to help anyone that he came in contact with.
In addition to his loving mother, Lucy Dillard, he leaves to cherish his memory his son, Michael Clarke (Jasmine); two sisters, Victoria Dillard and Iris Williams; two nieces; two nephews; and one great-nephew, aunts, Delphinia Dillard, Carolyn Dillard, and Delphinia Roberts (Sherman); his friends Michael Muse, Dorothy Muse, Pete Martin, Daryl Jones, Clifford, and Dennis; his special friends, Tonya Muse Hairston, Kimberly Harris, and Amanda Rodriguez; along with a host of other family members, coworkers of Hanes Brands, and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, with Bishop-Elect Marshall Wells officiating. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens.
