Kathryn Alice Myers Judson

April 5, 1932 - January 11, 2026

Kathryn “Kate” Alice Myers Judson of Martinsville, Virginia, entered eternal rest on January 11, 2026. She was born on April 5, 1932, in Galesburg, Illinois, to the late Earl Myers and Vera Larson Myers.

Kate was a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, and she will be deeply missed. She met the love of her life, Ralph Louis Judson, while working at a soda fountain in Galesburg and he drove her home. She and Louie were married on June 17, 1951, and they started their life’s adventure.

Kate was a devoted wife and assisted Louie in all his many endeavors, whether it was balancing books for his business, or helping with grading papers when he was a college professor, or even going with him on his many farm tours while seeking his master’s degree. When their son, David, was born, she became a dedicated mother. She was a quiet sports enthusiast, especially baseball. Kate loved her “Cubbies.”

She is preceded in death not only by her parents, but her husband, Ralph Louis Judson; and brothers, Harlan Myers and Phil Myers. Kate is survived by her son, David Judson (Jane); grandsons, Brian Judson (Lauren) and Scott Judson (Zachary Bugg); great grandsons, Colby and Lincoln Judson; sister, Marg Curry of Michigan; sister-in-law, Marie Myers of Illinois; and many loving nieces and nephews.
