Berkley Gene Robertson
Berkley Gene Robertson, 63, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away on January 8, 2026. Born in Roanoke, Berkley spent over 40 years working in construction, specializing in water utilities and stormwater systems. His work reflected a strong work ethic and quiet pride in building infrastructure that served his community and endured overtime. He was rarely still—always busy tinkering, fixing, or working on something with his hands. Berkley never met a stranger and was known for his quick wit, warm smile, and ability to make people laugh wherever he went.
Berkley lived his Christian faith through kindness, conversation, and a genuine interest in everyone he encountered. Above all else, he treasured his role as “Pawpaw,” a title he wore proudly and lovingly. He delighted in spending time with his grandsons Christopher and Henry and joyfully waited for the arrival of his 3rd grandson.
Berkley was preceded in death by his father, Raymond “Gene” Robertson, sister, Linda Reynolds.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 36 years, Kathryn Robertson; son, Ryan Minnix (Brey); daughter, Glendon Robertson; his mother, JoAnn Robertson; sisters Martha Jeffries (TJ) and Donna McBride; grandsons, Christopher and Henry, numerous nieces and nephews.
Berkley will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love for his family, his humor, his open heart, and the way he made others feel seen and welcome.
A celebration of Berkley’s life will be held Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 12:00 pm at Lotz Funeral Home, 1001 Franklin Road SW Roanoke, VA 24016, with Pastor Elwood Nunley. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service 11am-12pm.
