James Towler Allen

In loving memory of James Towler Allen, born September 5,1945 who passed away at his residence on January 11, 2026 after a long brave battle with cancer.

He was one of 6 children born to Bertha Lorene Reynolds and his father Ashley Omer Allen. He is survived by his sister June Gregory and brothers David Allen, Maurice Allen and was predeceased by late brother Ashley Omer “Dickie” Allen and sister Judy Allen Stull.

James was married to Grace Brooks Allen, and they have one daughter Karen Allen Daniel and grandsons Alex Chitwood, Jacob Chitwood and Kholton Daniel. James was a family man, a deacon at Hollywood Baptist Church and a great lover of the Lord. He received his degree at Virginia Tech in Business Management and worked many years as a supervisor and in leadership roles however his heart was always on farm and

family. A man of faith and action who expressed love more through action than words. Greatly missed, deeply loved by all who knew him. Humble, kind, down to earth, he taught us the value of commitment and responsibility, and most of all love.

A Celebration of Life Service to honor Mr. Allen will be held Saturday, January 24, 2026, 1:00 p.m. at Hollywood Baptist Church with Pastor Terry C. St. John officiating.
