Ann Mcdonald Grogan

Ann McDonald Grogan, 87, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026. She was born on February 23, 1938, in Martinsville, VA, to the late James Toney McDonald and Virginia Webster McDonald. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Smith Grogan.

Ann was a devoted teacher for many years. Beyond her professional career, she was a loving homemaker, mother, and grandmother. She found joy in working puzzles, relaxing on the porch at the lake, and spending cherished time with her family and grandchildren.

Ann is survived by her sons, Stuart Grogan (Cynthia) and James “Tony” Grogan; and grandchildren, Myles Grogan, Kayla Grogan, Brandon Souder, and Taylor Bailey (Palmer).

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to King’s Grant and its staff for the exceptional care Ann received during her time there.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at Roselawn Burial Park, in Martinsville, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Martinsville-Henry County SPCA, or Mountain Valley Hospice, in Ann’s honor.
