Bernice Smith Moore

Bernice Smith Moore, 94, of Stuart, VA, passed away on January 15, 2026 at her

home. 

She was born on May 23, 1931 to the late Lula Hutchens Smith and Willie

Bern Smith, In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband

James “Bud” Richard Moore, two sisters, Jennie Hill, Lois Smith, one brother,

Elmer Smith, one son in law, David Griffin and one great-grandchild Andrew

Smith.

She was of the Baptist Faith and was a wonderful housewife. She never met a

stranger, she loved watching her hummingbirds and she loved all of her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen Foley (James) of Stuart, VA, Janice

Griffin of Stuart, Va, four grandchildren, Christy Smith, Daryl Mason, Joni

Acerson, Michael Lee Martin Jr, three great-grandchildren Sophia Martin ,Dallas

Martin, Riley Acerson,, one great-great grandchild Brooklyn Smith and one

favorite brother in law Cub Moore.

A funeral will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Norris Funeral

Services Chapel with Pastor Mike Morrison officiating. Burial will follow at Patrick

Memorial Gardens in Stuart, Va.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
