Linwood Allen Gilley

Linwood Allen Gilley, 78, of Martinsville, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Stanleytown Health and Rehab.

He was born on May 12, 1947, to the late Ollie Benton Gilley and Lydia Biggs Gilley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Edwards Gilley, and a brother, O. B. “JR” Gilley.

Linwood was of the Primitive Baptist faith. He enjoyed playing on the computer, going to watch the races with his brother, watching the Washington Redskins—now known as the Commanders—and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by one brother, Clyde Gilley; three nieces, Cindy G. Adams, Karen Brady, and Ginger D. Gilley; a sister-in-law, Peggy W. Gilley; and a host of other family members and friends.

A graveside service will be held at twelve noon on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. David Minter officiating.
