Patricia "Patti" Ann Freeman Alderson

August 14, 1953 - January 19, 2026

Patricia “Patti” Ann Freeman Alderson, 72, passed away on January 19, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Patti was born in Johnstown, PA on August 14, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Mary Ruth Suitt Freeman and the late Galen Townsend Freeman. Patti was also preceded in death by her devoted husband of many years, Mr. Randy Alderson, as well as two brothers, Martin Freeman and Bobby Freeman.

In the last years of her life, she discovered a peace and tenderness that transformed her legacy into one marked by genuine love and devotion to others. She cherished her family and community with her whole heart, spending her latter years serving, helping, and uplifting anyone she could. Even in her final hours, Patti expressed deep gratitude for the kindness, goodness, and love shown to her throughout her life. She said she never knew how she would be able to thank everyone for the way they had cared for her-and that heartfelt sentiment revealed the pure, humble spirit that she will be remembered by.

Patti has now gone home to be with the Lord she loved so dearly. Thugh she will be missed beyond words, she leaves behind a powerful testimony of God’s mercy and transforming power. Her earthly journey ended with peace, fullness, and faith, and she now rests in the glorious joy of God’s Eternal best.

Patti served faithfully as an active member of Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a cherished part of the Women’s Ministry and a constant source of encouragement for those in need.

Patti is survived by her loving children; Lisa Kelly (Gerald) of Danville, VA, Dana Hyman (Ashton) of Clayton, NC, Christy Powell (Mike) of Summerville, SC, Jon Alderson (Laura) of Danville, VA, and Joe Alderson of Denver Colorado.

She was blessed with a beautiful legacy of grandchildren; Benjamin, Noah, Faith Ann, Dylan, Danielle, Jackson, Jaden, and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by very special nieces and nephews who dearly loved her.

Additional survivors include one brother, Barry Freeman (Nancy); and one sister, Gayle Apple.

A Funeral Service will be conducted on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at 3:00pm at Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church, 3612 Dry Fork Road, Dry Fork, VA 24549, with Pastor Gerald Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. A visitation will be held on the same day from 1:30-3:00pm, also at Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church, Dry Fork, VA. In addition the family will receive friends and loved ones Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 5:30pm-8:00pm at the home of her daughter, Lisa Kelly, located at 137 Dakota Drive, Danville, VA.

The family deeply appreciates all prayers, expressions of love, and support and is grateful for the kindness shown by all who have been touched by Patti’s life.
