Nancy Lee Turner

Nancy Lee Turner, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at her home. She was born on May 9, 1940, in Rocky Mount, Virginia, to the late Edwin Hoben Lavinder and Dotsie Maer Hudson Lavinder.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Patrick Turner; and her siblings, Eunicine Meeks, Jeanette Gray, Rachael Hancock, Kavie Lavinder, Walter Lavinder, and Vergie Hall.

Nancy was a devoted member of Bassett Worship Center. She was known for her loving spirit, kind heart, and dedication to her family. Nancy cherished time spent with her loved ones and will be remembered for her warmth, faith, and compassion toward others.

She leaves to cherish her memory her two sons, Michael Edwin Turner and James Darrell Turner; her five grandchildren, Hannah D. Turner, Kylie Turner, Patrick Turner, Roman Turner, and Paisley Turner; and a host of other family members and friends.

Services will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date due to inclement weather.
