Maureen "Moe" Ann Powers
Maureen Ann Powers, lovingly known as “Moe Moe,” 61, passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, February 2, 2026, at her home in Madison Heights, Virginia.
Moe Moe leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an unforgettable presence.
Moe Moe was a kind and gentle soul with a sharp wit and a joyful spirit. She had a special gift for connecting with people, especially children—and loved nothing more than talking with her family and those she cared about. She had a remarkable memory and could tell you the date of nearly any holiday or birthday without hesitation, a talent that never failed to impress others.
She found happiness in the simple joys of life. Coloring brought her comfort and creativity, and her days were often spent enjoying her favorite shows, including Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons, and Hallmark movies. Wherever she was, she had a way of lighting up the room and somehow always managed to get the last word in.
Moe Moe loved to joke around and kept everyone on their toes, giving all who knew her a run for their money. Her humor, warmth, and personality made her truly one of a kind.
She shared a deep and devoted bond with her caretaker, Sandy Vassar, whom she loved dearly and stood beside her until her last breath. That love and loyalty were a testament to Moe Moe’s beautiful heart.
She will be missed by so many, and her passing leaves a piece of our hearts missing. While we grieve for her loss, we take comfort in knowing that she is now watching over us, smiling, laughing, and keeping close watch on those she loved most.
Until we meet again, Moe Moe, your love, laughter, and light will remain with us always.
There will be no formal services held at this time, as the family chooses to honor Moe Moe’s life in a way that feels most meaningful to them.
