Kenneth Santmyer

Kenneth "Akweks/Kenny" Santmyer, 63, passed away on February 9, 2026, in Amherst, Virginia. Born on December 28, 1962, in Syracuse, New York, Kenny lived a life defined by dedication to his work and devotion to his family. Kenny built a career rooted in perseverance and craftsmanship. For over four decades, he worked as a cook, bringing care and consistency to every kitchen he entered. In the last six years of his life, he channeled his industrious spirit into entrepreneurship by founding and operating his own home improvement business. His tireless work ethic was evident in everything he did and left a lasting impression on those who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Santmyer; his children: Kristopher Santmyer, Keri Martin, Kenneth Santmyer II, and Kevin Santmyer; and his sisters: Katherine Baker and her husband Keith Baker, and Nora Lynn Santmyer. Kenny’s legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the many lives he touched through his work. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
