William "Billy" Edward Falwell
William “Billy” Edward Falwell Sr., 75, of Lynchburg, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
Born on June 17, 1950, in Lynchburg, Virginia, Billy was the son of the late Ernest E. Falwell and Elsie L. Falwell. He was also preceded in death by his close and longtime friend, Bobby Padgett.
Billy dedicated many years to his work, retiring after 30 years as a meat department manager with Kroger. Prior to that, he spent 20 years working in the meat department at Food Lion. Even after retirement, Billy stayed active by working part-time with NAPA, delivering auto parts, something he genuinely enjoyed.
An active and social man, Billy loved camping, fishing, vacationing, and spending time at the beach. His greatest joy was time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a proud member of the Candlers Mountain Hardee’s Breakfast Club, where he and his friends gathered each morning to share breakfast, stories, and laughter. Billy was also an active member of Thomas Road Baptist Church, where his faith and fellowship were important parts of his life.
He is survived by his four children, Stephanie F. Mills (Joseph), Matthew Walker Sr., Amanda Christian (Stacey), and Billie Jo Mays (Jack); his stepdaughters, Christina Campbell (Tony) and Marie Duncan; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his good friend, Diane Padgett.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. Burial will be held at a later date at Concord Cemetery.
