Raymond Howard Osborne
Raymond Howard Osborne, age 87, of Danville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, at his residence.
Mr. Osborne was born on September 15, 1938, to the late Kathleen Neal Osborne and Wilford Singleton Osborne.
Raymond was a man of several talents and had an incredible work ethic. He started Roto’s Supply from the ground up and turned that into a successful business throughout his life. He also worked for Dan River Mills for a period of time.
Mr. Osborne loved RC model airplanes, loved inventing, and loved fishing. He was a wonderful artist and painter, and loved ones close to him would often refer to him as the “animal whisperer”; it truly was a gift.
Mr. Osborne is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Russell Osborne; his son, Timothy Howard Osborne (Sonia); grandchildren, Abigail Martin and Olivia Osborne; nieces, Lisa Crawford and Pam Prevett; nephews, Steven Phillips and Kevin Phillips; great-niece, Casey Crawford Long; and cousin, Dale Neal.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Jerry Osborne; sister, Carolyn Burkhardt; and uncle, Lester Neal.
A celebration of life will be held for Mr. Osborne on Sunay, February 22, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services – West End Chapel with Pastor Anthony Thomasson officiating.
