Betty Willis Bray
Betty Willis Bray, 89, of Cascade, VA, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Sovah Health, Danville, VA. Born on January 13, 1937, in Carroll County, VA to the late Fannie Young, Mrs. Bray lived most of her life in the Bachelor’s Hall Community of Pittsylvania County, where she was a homemaker and an employee of Pannel Knitting Mill. She was first married to David McDaniel and later to Webb Bray, both of whom predeceased her.
Mrs. Bray will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family and friends. She attended the West Fork Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was active in the church and served as the Choir Director as well as in many other areas of service to the church.
Survivors include a daughter, Vicky McDaniel of Cascade; a son, Michael McDaniel (Cheryl), also of Cascade; a sister, Nelda Harris; a granddaughter, Terri McDaniel; two great-grandchildren, Kaley and Nicholette, and a special friend, Stanley Manning.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Bray was predeceased by three sisters, Shirley Robinson, Judy Myers, and Jean Hundley as well as two brothers, Elmer “Shorty” Willis and Thomas Willis.
A visitation by friends and neighbors will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave., Danville, VA. A graveside service to honor the life of Mrs. Bray will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Cross-McDaniel Family Cemetery, Peach Orchard Rd., Axton, VA at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Mr. James McDaniel. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home.
