Heather Kristin Gray

Heather Kristin Gray, 52, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on February 18, 2026. She was surrounded by her loving family and close friends. Heather was born on February 23, 1973 in Danville, VA.

Heather was of the Christian Faith. She was full of life and lived hers with a love of adventure, especially when it involved the beach or river. Kayaking on the river with friends brought her the greatest joy, but she also treasured time spent at the pool and the beach soaking up the sunshine.

Heather is survived by her Mother; Candace Mills Brown; two brothers; Heath Brown and Jay Brown (Tabatha); three sisters; Virginia Gray Craig (John), Katherine Gray, and Victoria Gray Kendrick (Tyler); a special cousin; Richard Byrd; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other special friends that she loved dearly.

Heather was predeceased by her father C.J. Brown, and her Nanny and Papa, Elmo and Susie Mills.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church, 3612 Dry Fork Road, Dry Fork, VA 24549, with Pastor Gerald Kelly officiating. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence of her Mother, Candy Brown.

In Lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Chatham Fire and Rescue or Emmanuel Pentecostal holiness Church Building Fund.
