Ronald David Moore

February 5, 1945 - February 21, 2026

Ronald David Moore, 81, of Collinsville, Va., died on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Sovah Health Martinsville. He was born February 5, 1945, in Saltville, Va., to the late Stella Smith Moore and Dewey Moore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Memelee Moore Jones, and Genevieve Moore Callen; his brothers: Marvin D. Moore, James Shannon Moore, Morris E. Moore, and Tommy S. Moore; and his stepmother Leovia Crosswhite Moore.

Ronald was a dedicated member of Fort Trial Christian Church, where he served as a Deacon, an Elder, and a Trustee. In his free time, he enjoyed watching game shows, and traveling especially to Gatlinburg, Tenn., and his hometown of Saltville, Va. Ronald served in the United States Army and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. After serving his country, Ronald spent 25 years as a dedicated employee of DuPont. After retiring from there he spent over 20 years at Price Wholesale Lighting. 

Ronald is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Betty Colston Moore; two daughters: Lynnette Payne and husband Ronald, and Rhonda Joyce and husband Jon; his grandson Ronnie Payne, Sr., and wife Rachel; granddaughters: McKenzie Joyce, Bethany Payne, and Christian Joyce; his great-grandchildren Ronnie Payne Jr., and Juliet Payne, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A viewing will be held from 12 noon to 1:00pm, on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Fort Trial Christian Church, where a funeral service will be conducted at 1:00pm with Pastor Danny Hart presiding. Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park in Martinsville, Va.
