Lucy Davidson

Mrs. Lucy Gillespie Davidson, age 93, of Covington, died on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Carl Walker Davidson who preceded her in death in 2007.

Mrs. Davidson was born January 27, 1933 in Donegal, Ireland, the daughter of the late Patrick Gillespie and Kate Ogara Gillespie and was the last surviving member of her immediate family of nine. A resident of this community since 1953, Lucy was employed as a seamstress by the former Halmode, Inc for a number of years and she loved sewing for other people in this area. Mrs. Davidson was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In her spare time, Mrs. Davidson enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Davidson is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Ann Waddell of Covington and Elizabeth Davidson Sizemore and special friend, Tim Morgan of Covington; five grandchildren, Christopher Sizemore, Tyler Sizemore, Preston Waddell, Austin Waddell and Kinlee Waddell; and four great grandchildren, Spencer Waddell, Sienna Sizemore, Bodie Sizemore and Gatlin Jordan.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, February 25, 2026 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Hollenbeck officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Tim Morgan and Durwin (Sonny) Waddell, Jr.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday afternoon from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at Loving Funeral Home.
