Janet Martin Otey
Janet Martin Otey, 94, of Roanoke, born October 11, 1931, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord.
She was the devoted wife of 75 years to Kenneth Otey. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sister, Kathy; two sons, Daniel (Kathy) and Tim (Kim); four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Lucas; her parents, Alice and Paul Martin; and her siblings, Barbara and Kenneth.
Janet was a longtime member of Peters Creek Church of the Brethren. She was an avid reader, dedicated quilter with the Busy Bees, gardener of African violets, and gifted crafter. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, and cherished “Meme.”
The family extends special thanks to the compassionate staff of Good Samaritan Hospice for their exceptional care.
A visitation will be held at Lotz Funeral Home Salem on Friday the 27th from 12-1pm with a funeral service following. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem.
