Abdul Sarafandi
Abdul Fattah Sarafandi of 210 Morgan Drive, Clifton Forge, Virginia died on February 25, 2026.
Abdul was born October 9, 1938 in Salfit, Palestine to the late Asha and Mohammed Sarafandi. He came to the United States to attend East Carolina University, and was a graduate of East Carolina University, Mountain Gateway Community College, and Mary Baldin College. He later moved to Clifton Forge, Virginia to be employed as a medical technologist in the laboratory of the Chesapeake and Ohio Hospital and later Alleghany Regional Hospital, where he worked for 40 years. In his spare time, he always enjoyed gardening and hunting.
In addition to his parents, Abdul was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert Lipscomb.
Abdul is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ida Mae Nicely Sarafandi; children, son, Isaam Sarafandi of Clifton Forge and daughters, Eisheh Sarafandi of Lexington and Alia Mulcahy (Michael) of Kailua, Hawaii; five grandchildren, James Lipscomb and Madison Lipsomb, both of Lexington, and Colin Mulcahy, Evelyn Mulcahy, and Aiden Mulcahy all of Kailua, Hawaii. Abdul is also survived by his two sisters and two brothers in Salfit, Palestine.
Abdul’s wish was to be cremated. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Friends may visit with the family at the residence, 210 Morgan Drive, Clifton Forge.
