Wilton Leon Coleman

Wilton Leon “Cute” “Coach” Coleman entered into the presence of the Lord on Friday, February 13, 2026 in Roanoke, VA. He was the beloved son of Herman Toliver Coleman and Ethel May Coleman.

Wilton was born on September 15, 1935 in Buena Vista, VA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin and Kenneth Coleman.

Wilton was a graduate of Perry McClure High School and also a member of the High School Hall of Fame. Wilton was also a graduate of Virginia Tech and the University of Virginia with a Master’s Degree from both Universities. He was in education as a Teacher, Principal, and Football coach.

Wilton is survived by his soulmate, Virginia Wise Coleman of 31 years; his children, Cynthia Morrow, Julie Fuller (Mike); his step-children, Lisa Buffy, and Scott Sutherland. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren; one brother, Wendell Coleman (Betsy); two sisters, Jennie Sue Floyd (Butch), Doris Molder; numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends will forever cherish his memory.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Rd, Roanoke, VA 24019. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice for their faithful service.
