Myrtle McCarter
Myrtle Louise Brookman McCarter passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Myrtle was a devoted servant of her Lord and Savior and lived her life as a reflection of her faith. She found joy in the simple blessings God placed around her — birdwatching, butterflies, interior design, cooking for those she loved, and collecting cherished knick-knacks. Above all, she treasured her family. Myrtle had a nurturing spirit and was lovingly considered “Mom” by many, extending warmth, guidance, and unconditional love to all who crossed her path.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sydney Brookman; her mother, Martha Brookman; her brothers, Junior, Jimmy, and Howard Brookman; her sister, Ethel Roberts; and her beloved daughters, Dawn McCarter and Hope McCarter Cagle.
Left to cherish her memory are her brothers, William Brookman and wife Jenny, and Harold Brookman and wife Brenda; her beloved daughter, Vicki Guiliani and fiancé Mike Casey; her beloved son, Tommy Carter and wife Becky Carter; and several nieces and nephews.
Myrtle was a proud and loving grandmother to Jessica Childress and husband Terry, T.J. Carter and wife Keri, Chelsea Keye and husband Justin, Miranda Beckner and husband Jeramie, David Guiliani III, Nick McCarter, and Aaron McCarter. She was a precious great-grandmother to Caydan, Jaxson, and Sawyer Beckner; Eric and Addison McCarter; Olivia and Scarlett Keye; Mason and Waylon Childress; Riley Carter; and Twilight Guiliani. Each of them brought immeasurable joy to her life.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Hospice Foundation of America and to Gentiva Hospice and their amazing staff for the compassionate care and support shown during this difficult journey.
The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Sherwood Memorial Park on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Jeff Gardner officiating.
Myrtle’s legacy of faith, love, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
