Richard "Red" Cawley
Richard “Red” Cawley, 72, of Hardy, Virginia went to his heavenly home on Thursday, February 26, 2026.
Red was born to the late Lottie R. Cawley and Edward B. Cawley on December 8, 1953. Red was a lifelong mechanic. In his early years Red spent most of his weekends at Franklin County Speedway. He also enjoyed NASCAR Racing and was an avid pool player. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Red loved his family and cherished all the time he got to spend with each and every one of them.
Left to cherish Red’s Memory are his loving wife, Mary B. Cawley; sons, Michael Cawley and Ricky Davis; daughter, Angela Burwell (Tommy); grandchildren, Oliva, Adrianna, Thomas, Cullen, Allieson, Landon, and Aven; and great grandchildren, Alirah and Jayden.
The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Vinton on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will follow in the chapel of Lotz Funeral Home in Vinton at 2:00 pm with Dr. Joe Greene officiating. Burial with military honors will be held in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Following the services everyone is welcome to join the family for a reception at Preston Oaks Baptist, 102 Preston Ave, Roanoke, VA.
