Willie B. Hayes

Willie B. Hayes, (88) of Lynchburg, VA, entered the eternal gates of heaven on February 19, 2026.

Mrs. Hayes was born on April 26, 1937 in Amherst County, the daughter of the late James G. and Louise Margaret Weekly White. She is survived by her children, Patricia K. Burnett of Lynchburg, and Eric Hayes of Amherst. She was a grandmother to her grandkids, Makayla Hayes (Mark) of Orange. She was an aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a special former daughter in law Jamie S. Lamb of Orange. She was preceded in death by her son H. Carson Burnett Jr. and grandson, Logan D. Hayes.

She served in the dining hall of Virginia Episcopal School (VES) for many years. She was a mother, a grandmother, a sister, and a friend to many. Mrs. Hayes enjoyed cooking, gardening, and doing cross word puzzles. She enjoyed spending time with the people she loved most, her family.

There will be a private memorial service at a later date with her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Amherst Humane Society, 318 Shelter Lane, Amherst, VA, 24521.
