Mary Lynn Simmons Sawyers

Mrs. Mary Lynn Simmons Sawyers, 74, of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, March 5, 2026, at her home. Mrs. Sawyers was born October 11, 1951, in Surry County to the late Gideon and Margaret Sumpter Simmons. Mrs. Sawyers retired from Carolina Farm Credit in Pilot Mountain. She loved people, and she spread joy everywhere she went. She loved her church, her bible study class, and her family. She will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 57 years, Danny Ray Sawyers; daughter, Kimberly Dawn Sawyers; son, Travis Ryan Sawyers (Marisa); brother, Mark Simmons. In addition to her parents Mrs. Sawyers was preceded in death by a son, Trenton Ray Sawyers; brother, Mike Simmons. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Highland Park Baptist Church with service conducted by Dr. Darrell Tate and Dr. Jim Richland. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time for the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Mrs. Sawyers to Highland Park Baptist Church, 1247 Park Dr., Mount Airy, NC 27030.
