Paul English Hicks
Paul English Hicks II, age 79 of Rocky Mount died Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at his home. He was born August 31, 1946 a son of the late Paul, Sr. and Evelyn Hicks. Mr. Hicks graduated Tennessee High in Bristol, TN, the University of Tennessee where he was a member of Pride of the UT Southland Band, and University of Chicago Respiratory Therapy School. He was a Registered Respiratory Therapist with Franklin Memorial Hospital in Rocky Mount for 35 years prior to starting Franklin Respiratory Rentals which he owned for 35 years before retiring in 2017. Mr. Hicks was an active member of Franklin Heights Church orchestra playing the saxophone and member of the Let’s Dance Band playing at the D-Day Memorial 4th of July Celebrations. He enjoyed following University of Tennessee Football and UT Band, and loved serving people needing medical equipment. He helped his sons start a mowing business and loved his 14 grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Karen B. Hicks; sons, Benjamin, Jonathan and wife Kimey, Stephen and wife Emily; 14 grandchildren; two foster granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to Christian Heritage Academy and Franklin Heights Church. Funeral services will be held at Franklin Heights Church 2 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2026. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
