Charlotte Fix Redmon
Charlotte Fix Redmon, age 86, of Covington, died Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at her residence.
She was born, July 9, 1939, in Alleghany County, and was preceded in death by her parents, the late Roy and Myrtle Fix; a son, Kenneth Redmon; two sisters, Phyllis Ridgewell, Loretta Persinger; four brothers-in-law, Harold Ridgewell, Ralph Persinger, Bobby Craghead, Basil King; two daughters-in-law, Peggy Redmon, Lora Redmon; and the father of her children, Chester Redmon.
Following her graduation from Covington High School in 1956, she left Covington going to work for the Pentagon in Washington, DC, working for the navy in a civilian worker role. She returned home to work twenty plus years for the Social Service Administration; after retiring from that position she went to work for Larry Wright at 7-11 also known as Wright’s Convenience Store for several years. She left that job going to work for Social Services in Clifton Forge until they closed; leaving there to go the Alleghany County Social Services, retiring from there at the age of 82. Charlotte was a member of Mallow Presbyterian Church for many years.
Leaving to mourn her loss is her daughter, Robin (Ivan) Miller of Lexington; her son, Roy (Penny) Redmon of Gauley Ridge, WV; five grandchildren, Brooke (Junior) Hiner, Sam Redmon, Steven (Jennifer) Redmon, Rebekah (Colton) Redmon, Hannah Redmon; three great-grandchildren, Catie Lipes, Ann Alise Hatcher, Wyatt Redmon; a sister, Dorothy King; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Mrs. Redmon’s wishes, her body has been cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
There will be a visitation for family and friends held at Arritt Funeral Home on Sunday, March 15, 2026 from 4-5:00 PM.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made in lieu of flowers to, ACG Hospice, 427 Lee Jackson Highway, Suite A3, Staunton, VA 24401.
