Melissa Dawn Jones Tinsley, 55, of Lexington, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Garland Jones and Virginia Ann Stoots Jones; niece, Amanda Jones; and fur babies, Rocko, Shooter, Miranda, and Aubrey.Melissa is survived by her husband of 26 years, James R. Tinsley, Jr.; sons, James Stoots (Jeannie), and Tony Tinsley; daughter, Ashley Stoots (JR Smith); grandchildren, Duane Smith, Dakota Smith, Landon Stoots, Savannah Stoots, and Skyler Stoots; brother, Jimmy Jones; sisters, Nancy Barlow, Dora Ellison, and Patty Jones; fur babies, Louie, JP, and Pinto; and numerous nieces and nephews.A memorial gathering will be held from 12-2 pm on Thursday, March 19, 2026, in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home.
