Kathleen Cash McGinnis

Kathleen Faith Cash McGinnis 100 of Lynchburg, Virginia passed away at her home on Friday, March 13, 2026.

Kathleen was born on February 3, 1926 in Amherst County, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Charles Elmer Cash and the late Helen Wilkerson Cash. She enjoyed 64 years of marriage with her late husband Robert Kelly McGinnis. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Nannie and Great Nannie. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.

In addition to her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by two sisters, Heloise Cash, Nancy Elder and five brothers, Ronald Cash, Carl Cash, Malcom Cash, Kenneth Cash and Maury Cash.

Kathleen is survived by three daughters, Gwendolyn M. Moses and husband Norman of Amherst, Virginia, Kelley M. Quinlivan and husband Michael of Naples, Florida, Barbara M. Decuir of Bonita Springs, Florida and a son Robert C. McGinnis and wife Holly of Richmond, Virginia, also eight Grandchildren, Michael Moses, Brian Moses, David Moses, Sarah Snyder, Kevin Quinlivan, Cash DeCuir, Hannah McGinnis and Alyssa McGinnis. Also, seven Great Grandchildren, Rebecca Moses, Amanda Moses, Riley Moses, Levi Moses, Alexis Moses, Reese Etters and Colin Etters. She is also survived by her Sister-in-Law Pat Cash and a number of Nieces, Nephews and friends.

Kathleen retired from Central Virginia Training Center after more than 30 years of service. Kathleen loved spending time with her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren playing card games, board games and Dominoes. Her homemade Sourdough Bread, chocolate chip cookies and cobblers were always a big hit. She also loved fishing and was ready to go at the drop of a hat.

She was a former member of Memorial Christian Church, Madison Heights Christian Church and is currently a member of Randolph Memorial Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be conducted at Whitten Monelison Chapel on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 10am with Dr. Derik Hamby officiating.

Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Whitten Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Gwen and Norman.
