Frances Marion Jennings Crews
Frances Marion Jennings Crews, age 96, went to be with her Lord and Saviour peacefully on March 16, 2026, at Sovah Health Hospital, Danville, VA. She was born on January 22, 1930, to the late Hubert Jennings and Lena Brown Jennings.
She was a loving wife to her predeceased husband, Dewey Rogers Crews.
Frances was the sister to Carroll Jennings and his wife Shirley Jennings and her predeceased siblings Lora J. Shelton, Robert Jennings, Mary Dalton and Delma Barksdale.
She is survived by her four sons, Steve Rogers Crews and wife, Charolette Phillips Crews; Wayne Lee Crews and wife, Linda W. Crews; Brian Dale Crews and wife, Linda B. Crews; and Kenneth Nelson Crews and wife, Jodie J. Crews. In addition, she is survived by 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Frances was a member of Straightstone Church where she was a Children’s Sunday School teacher and attended as long as her health permitted. Frances worked on the farm with her late husband Dewey as well as taking care of their home. She also worked as a seamstress at Pebbles in Altavista, Virginia. Frances was an active member of Renan Fire Department.
She loved planting her flowers, sewing and painting her ceramics. She enjoyed her coloring books and playing bingo and checkers. But most of all she had an endless love of chocolate. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will greatly be missed.

The family will receive family and friends before the funeral at Norris Funeral Home in Chatham, VA on Sunday, March 22, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Following the visitation the funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. also at the Chatham Chapel of Norris, officiated by Pastor Ryan Riley. Interment will follow the funeral service at Hillcrest Burial Park, Chatham, VA. Flowers and condolences may be sent to the funeral home at PO Box 313, Chatham, VA 24531.
