Alvin Randolph “Randy” Love, 85, of Rocky Mount, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. He was born on September 19, 1940, to the late George Cabell Love and Mary Elizabeth Brown Love. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kyle, Harry, Floyd, Herbert, Doug, and Carlton; his sisters, Chris Love and Georgia Firebaugh; and his infant sister, Edith Gray.Randy is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Fatena “Tena” Love; his children, Shea Angell, Randy Love, Jr. (Kim), Tammy Lamkin (Monty), and John Love (Sarah); his cherished grandchildren, Paige Arrington, Coty Love, Kelsey Tiller (A.J.), Morgan (Jordan), Chase Love, Kayla Anderson, and Brandon Anderson; and his beloved great-grandchildren, Ainsley and Kohen Tiller. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.Randy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He retired at the age of 76 after 40 years in sales with MW/PlyGem, a career he truly loved and took great pride in. Outside of work, Randy had a lifelong passion for music, especially country and bluegrass. He loved playing his fiddle at home and with others and proudly served as a judge at the Galax Fiddler’s Convention for 40 years.Known for his vibrant personality, Randy was truly one of a kind. He was famous for his gift of gab, his jokes and playful pranks, his signature hair, and his ability to never meet a stranger. A true jack of all trades, he shared his talents as a basketball and baseball coach, a skilled carpenter, a gifted musician, and a trusted source of advice for those he loved most. Above all, Randy was a man of strong faith and is now at peace in his heavenly home.Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel, 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2026 with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
