Danny Dale Cox

Danny Dale Cox, 67 of  Huddleston, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital.  He was born on Thursday, January 15, 1959,  a son of the late George Thomas Cox, Jr. and Ruby Anne Newman Cox Mattox .  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Howell Cox, his son, Corey Dale Cox, sisters, Mary Frances Wood, Paula May Wood, Rachel Lloyd & brothers, Terry Lee Cox, Roger Wayne Cox & Thomas Franklin Cox.

Danny was an avid outdoorsman enjoying camping & fishing as well as cooking and baking.  He also liked Ford vehicles and drag racing.  

He is survived by his son, Gary "Tommy" Cox; his daughter, Vanessa Cox Funk (Brandon), several loving nieces, nephews & cousins; his fur babies, Tara & Levi; brothers, Robert H. Cox, Willie Cox (Josephine), Roy Mattox (Danielle).  

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston with Rev. Jackie Carver officiating.  Interment will follow in the Cox Family Cemetery, Gretna, VA.   The family will receive friends from 10 until 12 noon prior to the services at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
