Donald "Wimpy" Lyndell Nowlin

Donald “Wimpy” Lyndell Nowlin, age 62 of Woolwine, VA went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, March 30, 2026. He was born in Patrick County on March 2, 1964, to James Donald Nowlin and Gladys Moore Nowlin. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Chevondia Gail Nowlin; grandparents, Sam and Mabel Nowlin and Reid and Mattie Moore; step grandparents, John and Mary Staples.Donald grew up in Patrick county and was a graduate of Patrick County High School. He joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Donald loved everyone, especially his grandsons, they were his heart. He loved attending the beach music festival, traveling, and working especially with flowers. He loved his job on the mountain and working for Buzz and Gibby Waitzkin, they were like family to him.In addition to his mother, Gladys Moore Nowlin he is survived by his step-mother, Margie Nowlin-Hairston (John); a daughter, Lashonda Nowlin of Newark, N.J.; five grandsons, Kyshawn, Khalil, Kingsley, Kristopher, and Kameron Nowlin; one sister, Tammy Graham; three brothers, James “Rod” Nowlin (Michelle), Ernie Nowlin (Natasha), and Travis Nowlin (Christina); six aunts, Margaret Dodson, Nancy Covington, Carmen Nowlin, Edith Moore, Rachel Tanks (Harold), Melissa Price (Goody) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.A funeral service for Mr. Nowlin will be held Monday, April 6, 2026, at 12:00 P.M. at Moody Funeral Chapel with Rev. Benjamin Redd officiating. Burial will follow in Nowlin Family Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
