Phillip Kent Stanley
Phillip Kent Stanley, Sr., age 77, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, at Sovah Health Danville.
Mr. Stanley was born on October 30, 1948, to the late Alma Elizabeth Watlington Stanley and Clarence Wiseman Stanley.
Mr. Stanley was an avid tennis player, loved cars and motorcycles. He proudly served our country in the United States Army and was a trained red-eye gunner. Mr. Stanley was a K9 officer for the City of Danville Police Department, and retired as a Magistrate for the state of Virginia. Phillip was also the long-time owner of Performance Auto & Sales Inc. here in Danville.
Mr. Stanley was married to the love of his life, Tilda Karnes Stanley for going on 58 years.
In addition to his wife Tilda, he is survived by his children, Phillip Kent Stanley, Jr. (Ronda) and Angie Stanley Herndon (JJ); brother, Tommy Wayne Stanley, Sr. (Dyann); and grandchildren, Joshua Kent Stanley and Ivy Matilda Herndon.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Carolyn Jean McGuire and brother-in-law, Lewis Edward McGuire.
Funeral services for Mr. Stanley will be conducted on Monday, April 6, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Norris Funeral Services – West End Chapel. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Internment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence.
