Mary Louise Walters

Mary Louise Walters, age 97, of Blacksburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026. Mary was born on January 30,1929, in Dover,Ohio, to the late Clarence and Mabel Reichman. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, John (Jack) Walters. She worked as a registered nurse in her younger years and was an accomplished flutist and dedicated music teacher her entire life. Her many flute students over the years serve as a living legacy to her enduring love of music. Mary is survived by her sister, Joy Albrecht, and her four loving sons: Jeff (Beverly), Jim (Mitzi), John (Renee) and Mark (Jennifer). She was a proud grandmother to her eight adoring grandchildren Rebecca, Chris, Kelly, Mitch, Ryan, Justin, Henry, and Duncan and to her ten great grandchildren, Olivia, Mason, Simone, Penelope, Lucas, Owen, Ryder, Rin, Kain, and Ezra. A private family service will be held, with a celebration of her life to be held at a later date. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Kroontje Health Center and friends who provided comfort and support during Mary’s final years.
