Carlton "Tony" Andrew Parr

July 12, 1959 - April 4, 2026

Carlton Andrew “Tony” Parr, 66, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away on April 4, 2026, after a prolonged illness.

Tony was born on July 12, 1959, in Covington, Virginia, to Edna Estelle Painter Parr and Steward DeWhitt Parr.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Ronald Wayne Parr and Clearance Elwood Parr.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Ronda Parr; his daughter, Aleshia Pearce (Brian); his grandsons, Andrew Peters and Christian Peters; his siblings, Stuart Parr, Barbara Black (Danny), and Cindy Landa (Barry); as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Tony grew up in Covington, Virginia, before his family relocated to Roanoke, where he attended William Fleming High School. He built a life through hard work and the skill he brought to his trade. As a welder, Tony was known for the quality of his work and moved into better opportunities throughout his career. He also gave his time and effort to support his wife’s family businesses, always lending a hand wherever it was needed.

Tony spent much of his life up on the creek. The youngest of six, he learned early to be tough and always keep up, and that never really changed. He and his brothers were known to raise a little hell, always full of energy and up for anything. He loved fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles with them, and riding with his wife, the two of them heading wherever the road led.

Tony was a man of few words, but when he spoke, people listened. He was direct, honest, and true to himself, with a sharp, sarcastic sense of humor and a mischievous streak that made him unforgettable.

Above all else, Tony was devoted to his family. He worked hard and was always willing to do more to take care of his wife and daughter. Their home was often a place of gathering, filled with family, friends, and good times. He gave generously, often putting others before himself, and was known for helping anyone who needed it, no questions asked.

Tony was full of life. He laughed easily, loved generously, and gave of himself without keeping score. He will be deeply missed by everyone lucky enough to have known him.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, at the Parr Family Cemetery in Eagle Rock, Virginia.
