Edward "Lee Byrd" Cox

Edward “Lee Byrd” Cox, 68, of Collinsville, passed away on April 5, 2026.

Born on November 20, 1957, he was the son of the late Thomas Granville Cox and Nancy Gay Sawyers Cox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Robert Snyder, and his beloved Granny, Alma Gravely.

Lee will be lovingly remembered by his son, Jason Cox; his cherished grandchildren, Juliana Cox and Alessio “Alex” Cox; and the love of his life, his former wife, Kathy Snyder Cox. He is also survived by his honorary mother, Carolyn Hicks (late Willie L. Motley); his mother-in-law, Virginia Snyder; sisters-in-law Patsy Snyder, Vickie Craig, Tina Blevins, and Michelle Shively; as well as many nieces and nephews who will hold his memory close.

Lee had a passion for working on cars and took great pride in his landscaping. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially camping and spending time outdoors.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Lee will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
