Jerald McCulley
Jerald Preston McCulley, age 82, of 1274 Trap Branch Road in Bedford, Virginia died on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at his residence.
Jerald was born in Iron Gate, Virginia on September 27, 1943 to the late Howard and Alma Earline Agee McCulley. He retired after 47 years as a railroad engineer for CSX Transportation. He also built race cars, loved racecar racing, and was an avid fan of NASCAR.
In addition to his parents, Jerald was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Miller “Jerry” McCulley; a sister, Nancy Tuck; and his fiancée, Ina Gail Bowers.
He is survived by a daughter, Teresa Kimberlin of Clifton Forge; a sister, Carolyn Bowyer of Bedford; a brother, Clifford McCulley of Eagle Rock; a brother-in-law, Fred Tuck of Bedford; a granddaughter, Jessica Hammer (Daniel) of Clifton Forge; a nephew and a number of nieces, including a special niece, Tammy Slusher; and a special cousin, Vickie Hull Gilliland.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 2:00 PM in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge with Reverend Lynn Wright officiating. There will be no formal visitation. However, friends may call anytime during business hours at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Bedford County Humane Society or to the American Heart Association.
