Helen Overby George

Helen Overby George, age 90 of Westfield, NC passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 10, 2026. She was born in Westfield on September 6, 1935 to Hobert Overby and Lillie Martin Overby. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Franklin “Pete” George and a sister, Pauline Dixon.She enjoyed visiting family and friends, often bringing food along with her visits. When not visiting, she enjoyed fellowship through phone conversations.She is survived by her son, Mark George (Carolyn), daughter, Kathy Flora (Bob); two grandkids, Jessica Clement (Josh), and Matthew George (Taylor); five great-grandkids, Millie Clement, Caleb Clement, Lydia Clement, Rowen George, and Harlan George.A graveside service will be held, Monday, April 13, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. at Collinstown Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Pastor Mark George and Pastor Tracey Collins officiating. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Tina, Cindy, Barbara, Alice and the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for the loving care they have shown.
