Irvin Walker Gauldin
Irvin Walker Gauldin, age 88, of Danville, Virginia, passed away on April 16, 2026, at his residence.
Mr. Gauldin was born on December 23, 1937, to the late Minnie Walker Gauldin and Jessie Ernest Gauldin.
Irvin was of the baptist faith, was a supervisor at Dan River Mills, proudly served in the Army National Guard, was an active member of the Poquoson Tribe 124 of the Improved Order of Red Men, and served as Commander of the American Legion, Post 1097.
Mr. Gauldin is survived by his daughter, Pamela S. Gauldin; son, Thomas Joseph Thornton; sister, Linda Gauldin; brother, Kenneth Gauldin; and grandchildren, Emily Wise, Courtney Pruitt, T.J. Thornton, Karter Thornton, and Kambria Thornton. He is also survived by a special friend, Pat Davis, and a special sister-in-law, Bonnie Hales.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Lula M. Gauldin; sisters, Pauline Kethum, Mamie New, Frances Meeks, Gladys Sparks, Delores Crabb, Gloria Adkins, and Carolyn Ware; and his brothers, Jessie Gauldin, Jr., Ernest Gauldin, Luther Gauldin, Hubert Gauldin, Leonard Gauldin.
A funeral service for Mr. Gauldin well be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 11:00am at Norris Funeral Services – West End Chapel with Pastor Kenneth Hammock officiating. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times the family will receive friends and family at his residence.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Tunstall Fire and Rescue.
