Helen Dale Emerson Hammock

June 3, 1944 - April 20, 2026

Helen Dale Emerson Hammock, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, was born on June 3, 1944, and passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026. She loved Jesus dearly and had a heart devoted to serving others. She was born to George Dail and Angeline Collins Emerson, both of whom preceded her in death. She is also predeceased by her siblings, Roger Lee Emerson and Brenda Emerson Austin.

Even through many years of health struggles, she met each day with quiet strength and grace that never failed her. She found joy in the little things in life: cooking for those she loved, tending to her flower garden, crafting and quilting, hunting for a bargain, and getting lost in a good book. Her work in catering, food management, and crafting was more than a job; it was simply an extension of who she was—creative, thoughtful, and full of care. Helen had a true gift for hospitality and a special way with children. With a gentle, patient spirit, she could calm even the busiest little ones, often inviting them into a simple craft and making them feel seen and loved. She was the heart of every holiday gathering, where love showed up in big meals, full tables, and her unforgettable strawberry cake. She also had a quiet, playful sense of humor that would slip up on you and leave you laughing when you least expected it. That same gift lives on in her children and grandchildren, who carry her wit and often bring laughter wherever they go. More than anything, Helen loved her family. She made people feel welcome, cared for, and at ease. She shared simple but lasting lessons about life and about enjoying the many blessings God gives us. Her warmth, her laughter, and her steady presence will be missed more than words can say.

She is survived by her husband, Donnie Ray Hammock; her sons, Tony Waldron (Annette) and Bill Waldron (Mary Lee); her grandchildren, Josh Waldron and Sara Beth Holley (Rhett); and her great-grandchildren, Corban, Sadie, and Gemma Holley; her brother, Danny Ray Emerson (Faye); and her sister-in-law, Debra Emerson.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Roman Eagle for their compassionate care, kindness, and support over the years. Their dedication and love brought comfort not only to her, but to her entire family. Her life was a gift, her memory a treasure, and she will be loved and remembered always.
