Terry Nelson Ray

Mr. Terry Nelson Ray, age 64 of Stuart, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at The Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina. He was born in Giles County, Virginia, on June 25, 1961, to the late Donald Lloyd Ray and Violet Sifford Ray. Terry had over 20 years of service as an electrician with the Henry County Public School System. He was a simple and hardworking man who loved to be home with his family. Although he had many titles, Daddy and Papa were his most treasured. Left to cherish the memories of Terry are his wife, Rhonda Gilley Ray; one daughter, Hannah Ray (Tadpole Sawyers); two grandchildren, Rylee and Waylon; three step-grandchildren, Hunter, Noah, and Lilly; several cousins; and his beloved dogs, Prince and Sheba. The funeral for Mr. Ray will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Jeff Harris officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday afternoon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
