Allen Richard Sheets

Allen Richard Sheets, age 82, of Danville, Virginia, passed away peacefully at Brookdale Danville Piedmont Senior Living on April 23, 2026.

Mr. Sheets was born in West Virginia on February 13, 1944. He was the son of Fred and Mildred Wallace Sheets, who predeceased him. He was married to Rebecca Wright Sheets, who survives, of the residence.

Allen was self-employed as a roofer and enjoyed owning his own business. He served his country proudly with the Virginia Army National Guard. Allen was of the Pentecostal faith.

Allen loved electronics, the outdoors, TV westerns, and bluegrass music. He was a man of many talents.

Allen, in addition to his wife, is survived by sons, Gary (Robin), Donald, and Mark Sheets, stepchildren, Dina Yates, Miriam Buchanan (Jeff), Tammy Page (Ronnie), Angela Hudgins, Paul Eastridge (Sheena) and John Eastridge. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, two sisters, Sandy Wilkerson and Wanda Arnold (Tommy), and his four brothers, Arlan Sheets (Janice), Daniel Sheets (Janet), Bryant Sheets (Terry) and Albert Sheets.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by one granddaughter, Kasey Williams; two sisters, Joyce Bowman and Jane Shields, and two brothers, Jackie Sheets and Russell Sheets.

A funeral service for Mr. Sheets will be conducted on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Norris Funeral Services – West End Chapel with Pastor Landon Sheets officiating. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens, Danville. A visitation for Allen will be held one hour prior to the service (1:00 – 2:00 p.m.), also at the funeral home.
