Robert "Bobby" Martin Deel

Robert Martin Deel, Sr., 75, of Vinton, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Beatrice Deel; his beloved wife, Alma Deel; and his siblings, Michael Deel and Peggy Markham.

Bobby dedicated more than 47 years of service to Roanoke Electric Steel before retiring. A true jack of all trades, he had a remarkable ability to fix just about anything. Whether working on cars, installing siding, troubleshooting electrical issues, or tackling projects of any kind, Bobby approached each task with skill and confidence. He was, in every sense, a modern-day Renaissance man.

Music was another of Bobby’s great passions. He spent many years playing guitar and keyboard in various bands and had a natural talent for picking up and mastering nearly any instrument he encountered. Those who knew and loved him often described him as “larger than life,” a man who lived boldly and without fear.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Rob Deel (Jenny), Brad Deel (Todd), Debbie Robertson, and Josh Robertson (Amanda); his grandchildren, Trey Deel (Kyra), Jacob Deel, Kobie Robertson, and Kolbrin Robertson; his great-grandchildren, Sophia, Robert, and Clark; his brother, Wayne Deel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
