Brenda Cochran

Mrs. Brenda Jones Cochran, age 84, of Covington, died Monday, April 27, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her children. She was the wife of the late Clark (Willie) Wilson Cochran, Jr.

Mrs. Cochran was born January 29, 1942 in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late Okey Kenneth Jones and Margie Campbell Jones. She was a lifetime resident of this area. Brenda had been employed as a sales clerk by the former Leggett's before taking on a job that she loved: being a nanny to thirty-five plus children for forty years.

Mrs. Cochran is survived by her son, Dennis Lee Cochran of Bolivia, NC; her daughter, Lisa Dawn Cochran of Covington; nieces and nephews, Patricia Lynn (Chuck), Penny Cooke (Horace), Kenneth Ray Jones, Jr. (Barbara), Larry Jones and friend, Cherie; a number of great niece and nephews and great -great nieces and nephews; and two first cousins, Teenie Kegley and Linda Bowles.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Cochran was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Ray Jones; a sister, Dreama Jones Miller; and a nephew, Gary Jones.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 2, 2026 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Gilliland and Chris Fisher officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday morning from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at Loving Funeral Home.
